When it comes to cooking oils, you have many to choose from. Most of the time, people cook their food with olive oil, which is already a good choice. Personally, I used olive oil for as long as I can remember, until I found out about coconut oil. After some research, I learned that the benefits of coconut oil far outweigh those of olive oil; and don’t worry, your food will not taste like coconut. Coconut oil is very different than any other cooking oils, because of it’s unique composition of fatty acids. About 80 to 90% of the fatty acids in coconut oil are saturated. This results into coconut oil being very resistant to oxidation at high temperatures.

2. Coconut Oil is rich with lauric acid

Coconut oil contains several fatty acids, one of them being lauric acid. Our body breaks lauric acid down into the compound monolaurin. Our body then uses monolaurin to kill several dangerous microbes like bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Consuming coconut oil could help improve your weight loss efforts. It is a natural mood enhancer, which can help make you feel more motivated and energetic at the same time. It can also promote the production of hormones which reduce your stress and anxiety, which for many people is a key factor for why they have trouble losing weight.
